Turn first. Then move.

Outbreak uses the deliberate movement and fixed-camera perspective associated with classic survival horror. Practice walking, turning and backing away in a safer space before trying to squeeze past an enemy.

A camera change can make a direction feel unexpected. Pause your movement briefly, look at your character’s facing, then continue. Avoid using combat to diagnose a mapping problem.

If the keyboard does nothing.

  1. Close any open chat field, browser toolbar or settings input.
  2. Click the actual game view to give it keyboard focus.
  3. Try the host’s Start and confirm bindings before testing movement.
  4. Open its Controls panel and check for changes or unbound keys.
  5. If using an emulator, inspect that emulator’s controller profile instead of applying browser defaults.

A detected controller is not a second player.

Connect your gamepad, then inspect the mapping in the environment that runs the game. Button letters on an Xbox-style pad do not match PlayStation symbols by position in every configuration.

Detecting a second gamepad does not establish local split-screen support. For playing with friends, use the documented online route.
