Where your Resident Evil Outbreak save is stored.
| Environment | Storage to check | Backup approach |
|---|---|---|
| Original PS2 | Your physical PS2 memory card. | Use supported console memory-card management. |
| Emulator | The memory-card image selected in your emulator. | Close the game and copy the actual selected card file. |
| Browser project | The virtual card in that host’s browser storage. | Use its export function before clearing data or replacing a card. |
Make a backup before the risky step.
- Finish the game’s own save process. A checkpoint or emulator state may serve a different purpose.
- Identify the card and File you are about to change.
- Export or copy the card to a folder outside temporary browser or emulator data.
- Name the copy with the File, edition and date so that it is recognizable later.
- Keep the previous backup until the new copy has been checked. Do not test an import over your only good card.
An import can replace progress.
Before importing, export the destination card as well. Check the game edition, format and slot expected by the software handling it. A matching filename alone does not prove compatibility.
File #1 and File #2 are different games. Do not assume a card from one service, region or File can be dropped into another without that tool’s documented support.
If your save seems to have disappeared.
- Check whether you opened another browser profile, private window or domain.
- Check the selected emulator memory-card slot and file path.
- Check whether you recently cleared site storage or imported another card.
- Look for a previous exported card before making more changes.
- Do not clear more data as a universal repair. Preserve what remains.
